Leave the town behind and head South down Loch Linnhe for a feast of natural beauty, awesome scenery and remarkable wildlife. Follow the mountainous grandeur of the Appin coast as we pass the legendary Castle Stalker (Castle Aaargh to Monty Python fans!) en route to the island splendour of Lismore.
Upon reaching Lismore, it’s time to relax as your local guide takes you on a Land Rover tour of this unspoiled island gem. Sites of historic importance vie with stunning panoramas for your attention.
Step back in time as you sample the traditional laid back hospitality for which the area is renowned. Explore the ruins of a 13th century castle, visit an iron age broch, hear the story of 14th century St. Moluag’s cathedral, ancient seat of the Bishops of Argyll.
Or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery and visit the fascinating island visitor centre…. the choice is yours. Your tour guide can also arrange for a tasty lunch or snack featuring some of the area’s finest local produce to be supplied.
Don’t forget to look out for the abundant local wildlife – sea otters and eagles are among the many regular visitors to Lismore!
We then cross the loch for a visit to one of Scotland’s most awe-inspiring wildernesses: Kingairloch. Home to golden eagles, frequented by sea eagles and otters, deer are often to be found grazing in the pastures by the roadside.
You are free to roam this majestic paradise for a couple of hours before boarding the rib for the journey back up the loch, stopping at the seal colonies on the way and keeping a lookout for dolphins and porpoises. Finally, we return to Fort William with memories you will treasure forever!
